Pay attention to your Dreams

Scientific studies have concluded all people and many mammals, dream based on Rapid Eye Movement (REM). Some claim they do not dream but it is most likely an issue of recall. Although many dreams are outlandish, there are significant and life changing ones:

(1) Periodic Table: Dmitri Mendeleev dreamt of a table where the atomic weight and properties of elements fell into place.

(2) Symphony No.7 in E major, WAB 107: Anton Bruckner heard it played by viola in his dream.

(3) Google: Larry Page saw the algorithm in a dream that produced the search engine.

The Bible records at least fifty dreams where major decisions were made regarding marriage partners, travel plans, war strategies, presidential decrees and many life and death situations. Rulers took dreams seriously that they sought for the interpretation and counsel. Visions and dreams are God’s chosen media platform in the last days as Acts 2:17 says that God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh and that young men shall see visions and old men shall dream dreams.

Based on Job 33:15-18, the purpose of dreams is to give instruction, direction, and warning. An example is Joseph who was instructed not to abandon Mary and later warned against Herod and was directed to bring his wife with the child Jesus to Egypt. The wise men were also warned not to go back to Herod and received instructions and directions.

Dreams are either an overflow of the soul and a product of the subconscious or a spiritual communication wherein God is revealing a very important message.

Since the postmodern man is logic driven and preoccupied with information overload, dreams are a way for God to capture one’s attention where logic is disarmed, and supernatural things are acceptable. The divine picture language in sleep is vivid, impactful, and unforgettable.

Reports of many unbelievers and non-Christians coming to faith in the Lord Jesus due to a dream is exciting. The God who spoke to Abimilech, Nebuchadnezzar, and Pharoah in a dream is the same God appearing to the lost, causing them to become part of the kingdom of God. Just as Joseph and Daniel were promoted to places of influence after interpreting dreams, it is time for the children of God to be equipped in interpreting the language of the spirit. Let the prophetic anointing in the Church be fully activated to bring in the great end time Harvest. Arise and shine!
